Flexible IT Support

IT support without the full-time salary

Most organisations pay thousands a month for an on-site technician who sits idle most of the day. Flexible IT Support gives you everything a good in-house tech does — helpdesk, monitoring, patching, security, backups and hands-on fixes — mostly delivered remotely, with on-site visits when a job genuinely needs them. You only pay for the work you actually use.

What's included

Everything a good in-house tech does

Monitoring, patching, security and backups run in the background as standard — they don't eat your hours. Your included time is real engineer work: fixes, changes, onboarding and on-site visits when they're needed.

Helpdesk & everyday support

Your team gets a real person for the day-to-day: logins, email, printing, devices and the dozens of small things that stop work — answered quickly, mostly remotely.

Proactive monitoring (RMM)

We watch your machines and servers around the clock and catch problems — failing disks, runaway updates, offline backups — before they become outages.

Patching & updates

Operating systems and key software kept current and secure, scheduled so updates land without disrupting your team.

Endpoint security

Antivirus and endpoint protection deployed, monitored and kept healthy across every device, so threats are caught early.

Backups, checked

We monitor your backups and verify they're actually running — so if the worst happens your data is genuinely recoverable, not just 'configured'.

Onboarding & offboarding

New starters set up and ready on day one; leavers cleanly de-provisioned the same day — accounts, devices and access handled properly.

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace admin

Day-to-day administration of your email and productivity suite — accounts, licences, shared drives, permissions and security settings.

Hardware & on-site visits when needed

Most issues are fixed remotely, but when a job genuinely needs hands on hardware — a failed machine, a network point, a new install — we come to you.

Vendor liaison & monthly reporting

We deal with your IT suppliers and ISPs so you don't have to, and send a plain-English monthly report on what was done and what to watch.

Why it adds up

Why pay for a full-time tech who's idle most of the day?

A full-time on-site technician costs a salary every month whether there's work or not — and most days there isn't enough to fill. Flexible IT Support gives you the same capability on tap, mostly remote with on-site when it's needed, and you only pay for the work you actually use.

How it runs

How it works

  1. 1

    Onboard

We map your setup — devices, users, email, key systems — and put monitoring, patching, security and backups in place. Usually live within days.

  2. 2

    Day-to-day support

Your team logs issues and we handle them, mostly remotely. We come on-site when a job genuinely needs hands on hardware. Monitoring runs in the background so we catch problems early.

  3. 3

    Review & right-size

Each month you get a plain-English report. Unused hours roll over, and if your usage settles higher or lower we adjust the plan so you're never paying for idle time.

FAQs

Flexible IT support — your questions answered

How much does outsourced IT support cost?

Flexible IT Support is from £650 a month, which includes 10 hours of hands-on engineer time plus always-on monitoring, patching, security and backups. Beyond the included hours it's a simple £45 an hour, and unused hours roll over for up to three months. No minimum term (excl. VAT).

Do I still need an in-house IT technician?

For most small and mid-sized organisations, no. A full-time on-site technician costs a salary every month whether there's work or not — and most days there isn't enough to fill. Flexible IT Support gives you the same everyday capability on tap, mostly remote with on-site visits when they're needed, for a fraction of a full salary.

What's included each month?

Helpdesk and user support, remote monitoring, patch and update management, endpoint security, backup monitoring, user onboarding and offboarding, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration, hardware troubleshooting, software configuration, vendor liaison and a monthly report. Monitoring, patching, security and backups run in the background and don't use your included hours; the 10 hours are for hands-on engineer work and on-site visits.

What happens if I go over the 10 included hours?

Anything beyond the included 10 hours is billed at £45 an hour, agreed with you as it comes up. There are no surprise charges, and unused hours roll over for up to three months so you're not penalised for a quiet month.

Do you come on-site, or is it all remote?

It's hybrid. Most everyday issues are resolved remotely, which is faster for you — but when a job genuinely needs hands on hardware (a failed machine, a network point, a new install) we come to you. You're never charged for idle on-site time.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No lock-in and no minimum term. You can scale up, scale down or stop with notice — you're never tied to a long contract or a full-time salary.

Is this suitable for schools as well as businesses?

Yes. Flexible IT Support works for any UK organisation — small and growing businesses, offices, and schools or colleges that don't need (or can't justify) a full-time on-site technician.

How quickly can you get started?

Usually within days. Onboarding is light: we map your devices, users and key systems, put monitoring and backups in place, and you have a real support function from day one — no recruitment, no notice periods.

What size organisation is this for?

There's no minimum size. It suits any organisation that wants dependable IT support without carrying a full-time technician — typically from a handful of users up to a few hundred.

How is this different from calling someone when something breaks?

Break-fix support only shows up after something has already gone wrong, and charges per call-out. Flexible IT Support is proactive: monitoring, patching, security and backups run continuously to stop problems before they start, with hands-on time included — and unused time rolls over rather than disappearing.
